I like to take photos of things. Mostly peoples. Mostly pretty peoples, if I'm honest. But sometimes toys, or dogs, or maybe a tree. Y'know, interesting stuff.
I shoot a few burlesque shows, but that's just to kill time between photoshoots with models, where I can control the light and the pose and the magic.
My photos will have the tag "my photo". Otherwise, it's stolen from the vast wilderness that is the internet. I usually source pics from Model Mayhem, Flickr or We <3 it.
You wanna look me up elsewhere?
Martin Amis - Invasion of the Space Invaders: An Addict’s Guide to Battle Tactics, Big Scores and the Best Machines ( 1982 )
The phalanx of enemy invaders moves laterally across a grid not much wider than itself. When it reaches the edge of the grid, the whole army lowers a notch. Rule one: narrow that phalanx. Before you do anything else, take out at least three enemy columns either on the left-hand side or the right (for Waves 1 and 2, the left is recommended). Thereafter the aliens will take much longer to cross their grid and slip down another rung. Keep on working from the sides: you’ll find that the invaders take forever to trudge and shuffle back and forth, and you can pick them off in your own sweet time.
If you only read one article today, make it this account of Martin Amis’ fabled book on arcade game culture, Invasion Of The Space Invaders. Amis has since disowned the work, for some reason, but it’s a fantastic piece of early game criticism, containing keen tips on playing Space Invaders (“narrow that phalanx”) and Pac-Man (“the fruit symbol is there simply to tempt you into hubristic sorties”), and ardent analysis of Donkey Kong (“Donkey, your days are numbered. The knackers’ yard awaits you”). It even has a foreword by Steven Spielberg.
