Someone fangirl with me because Katy Perry Sims 3 expansion
I installed Sims 3 vanilla on my laptop in preparation.
An hour and a half into it ( about an hour of that was spent in the character designer, making one Sim, who was lovely in every way and had an amazing wardrobe ) the laptop overheated and shut down, and nothing was saved.
Kids tend to do that haha. That’s why I should have one now! I have no life anyway.
When I was down in London, and there was 2 babies and a 5 year old running about, I realised…….
Teen parents? Having kids when you are 17? Best thing in the world!
Because I bend down to pick up Soph, or I twist to reach something she’s dropped or I’m carrying her for 10 minutes and all I can think, as my back aches and my legs start to buckle and I’m feeling a little dizzy, is
I know how you feel. :( I would 10 hour night shift so I wake up at 9pm, go to work, run my errands in the morning, don’t make it home till 11am or later, shower, eat, sleep, repeat. It sucks being an adult.
It’s called growing up. It’s called being a dad. It’s the inevitable shift in priorities. But all anyone can do is not be hard on one another and remember that friendship means not being a dick to people you don’t spend all your time with :)
Soph slept in her own bed, in her own room the past 3 nights.
I think she’s getting the hang of it, even though we have been bringing her back in at about 5am ( she just wont settle then ).
So, the theory is, once we get into this routine where she goes to sleep at a normal time, and Katie and I are able to get a decent sleep at night, our evenings wont be such a write off as they are just now.
We’ll be able to do stuff! Tidy the flat! Watch a movie together! Get a baby sitter in and we can sneak out to the cinema to see Brave on a big screen!
In short, once Katie and I get back into getting sleep at night, we’ll be back to normal.
Yea, had to wait till I was home at lunch to poke one of my sewing needles into the reset hole….and if you hold down the PLAY button on startup, it takes you into a ROOT menu thingy…..couldn’t choose anything. The jogstick and the buttons….all just fuct.
Ah well. Boss has said he’ll pay one of my weeks into the bank on Wednesday. But by then, I’ll be due my next pay anyway, so, I’m still just going to be 2 weeks behind for a while!
I’ve not been paid in 2 weeks. That’s like £500 missing. Bear in mind, at the end of every month, £750 is Standing Order’d out of my bank to pay for my mortgage/bills. If I don’t have the money, I have no house/food/electricity.
Also, my mp3 player died. She powers up, but the buttons don’t work. Ordiarilly, I’d just go and buy a new one, since it’s just a cute wee Creative Zen and only costs like £40, bi
We planned to put Soph in her cot on Friday night, but Katie was ill. Hella ill.
So we put it off until Saturday night. Starting at 9, I put Sophie into her cot and she freaked out. 10 minutes later, Katie came through and did some magic that helped her settle.
At about half ten, Sophie was up and moaning. An hour and a half between crying didn’t bode well for a restful night…..Seems she was hungry. So, she got up for some milk and to our surprise, she went straight back down until…..
like fucking 4am!!!!
5 minute feed at 4am and then straight motherfucking back down! Asleep until 8am!
First try, she knocks it out of the park! What a superstar! So…here’s hope that’s just how she is and it wasn’t a one off fluke.
Tonight, we're trying to have Soph sleep in her cot
In her own room.
The theory is, when she wakes up and cries, you go in and sit with her until she falls back asleep. But you can’t pick her up. Because then she’ll associate crying with getting a hug.
I know the majority of Tumblr folk don’t really have kids…and, I will attest that the noise of your own child crying is infinitely more upsetting that just some random stranger kid, or a brother/nephew/relative/whatever.
Genuinely awesome. A couple of really good photos from it too.
There were goods and bads about today.
At no point today did anything feel like work.
Since I get on with and enjoy the company of Alix Ruin and her boyfriend, it just felt like a group of friends, walking around in the glorious sunshine having a laugh, and occasionally taking a photo or two.
Alix is a fantastic model, and while I think she would sometimes like me to direct her into poses, she does amazing stuff without any prompting.
I do love an excuse to take some photos
Tiredness caught up with me today. I made some clumsy mistakes, like;
totally missing my focus, and focusing on the trees in the background instead of Ms Ruin;
not having charged my camera battery, which cut out during the shoot;
leaving my reflector disk in the middle of Eglington Park.
lost my train ticket!
I realised that I cannot take a good full body shot. For waist upwards, close in, tight cropped pics…I’m your guy, but all in shots…..I’m rubbish at.
Sophie didn’t settle well last night, which is going to make today’s 6 hours of train travel all the more stressful.
With any luck, she’ll just chill out, watch out the window and have a couple of small naps ( because if she sleeps the whole journey, she’ll not sleep tonight….meaning she’ll be cranky on Wednesday ¬_¬ )
So, it’s 7am just now.
We’re just waking up and going to get the 10am train to Glasgow.
We land in Glasgow at 11am.
Board the train waiting there, which leaves at 11:40
Arrive in London at 4pm
Walk from Euston to King’s Cross / St Pancras
Get the Hammersmith&City out to Wood Lane
And then we’ll be at our first destination, the lovely Kaye and Rory’s flat.
Then on Wednesday, we’re going for a jaunt back into London centre to meet up with Charlotte, Rhi and Sarah.
Thursday, we’re out to Morden / Sutton to stay with Laura and David and we’ll be with them and their new baby until the Tuesday morning, when we start heading home, landing back in the flat at about 6pm.
So. Busy time ahead. I may not Tumbl too much. Or, I may Tumbl a metric fucktonne. We’ll see. It’ll mostly be photo’s I’ve taken of Sophie or around London. We’re going to get some touristy photos with Soph…like, in front of Buckingham Palace, or her noising up a Beefeater, on in front of Big Ben….shit like that.
